France outlaws the Veil

Britain said it will "not follow France and tell women what they must wear in public. Its not a nice thing to do."
British Government Minister:
"Telling people what they can and can't wear is un-British. We're a tolerant and mutually respectful society. Britain won't dictate what people wear." [Damian Green]

"Burka empowers females. Wearing burkas confers dignity on women." [Caroline Spelman]
